The Sahakyan Family Foundation was created to honor the life of Sahak Telikyan. Sahak was just 4 years old when the Armenian Genocide caused the loss of his parents. At such a young age, he was unable to remember much about his family or his last name. For this reason, Sahak was given the last name of Telikyan at the orphanage he was sent to. Since he is the origin of our family’s lineage, it was his son’s Asatur & Sarkis’ wish to change the family’s last name to Sahakyan to honor the most significant person in our story.
The Sahakyan Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance and support to orphanages and families facing adversity. Our mission is to honor the legacy of Sahak Telikyan, a survivor of the Armenian Genocide, by empowering individuals and communities to build brighter futures. Through strategic partnerships, fundraising initiatives, donors, and community outreach, we aim to address the pressing needs of vulnerable populations, including high living expenses, essentials, medical costs, medication, illness, and funeral expenses. Our comprehensive approach encompasses financial aid, educational opportunities, and cultural enrichment programs to create lasting impact and promote resilience.
